eco-Problem and Health Problem
When wood isn’t recycled, it often ends up in landfills where it breaks down without oxygen (anaerobically), releasing methane—a powerful greenhouse gas. If the wood comes from unsustainable sources, harvesting it can damage ecosystems, reduce biodiversity, and destroy forests that help store carbon. In addition, treated or finished wood (such as wood with preservatives, paints, or varnishes) can release harmful chemicals into the soil when discarded, making it less environmentally friendly.
ecoMVMNT Solution
MTL Balance Board has received ecoMVMNT’s Environmental Seal of Approval for its leadership in sustainability, using 100% recycled wood sourced from industrial waste in Quebec and Ontario, Canada. The company also demonstrates a strong commitment to the environment through its Tree Planting Initiative, planting one tree for every board sold to help offset wood consumption.
