Swytch Launch in Canada
This is the successful journey, along with the go-to-market strategies and initiatives, for launching Swytch to customers and bike stores over a one-year period.
March 2024
I had the privilege of leading the launch of the award-winning U.K. Swytch eBike Kit in Canada. Swytch made its debut at the Toronto Home Show, which attracted over 80,000 visitors, generating significant visibility, strong interest, and multiple orders.

Building on the success of the Toronto Home Show, I collaborated with Swytch UK to implement the following initiatives:
- e-Commerce Website: photos, videos, description
- Canadian Swytch Price List: for direct customers and retail bike stores
- Orders & Shipping Execution Process: payment, warehouse-shipping, delivery to customers and bike stores
- Swytch Presentation: online and in-store Swytch proposal to bike stores
- Marketing Mix: social media (paid & organic), upcoming events, newsletter, Swytch demo rides (customer and bike store)
May - September 2024
During the peak cycling season, I concentrated on Central Toronto, personally visiting bike store owners to introduce them to Swytch. I offered demo rides, gained insights into the bike industry, and explored their interest in carrying Swytch in their stores
Simultaneously, I introduced Swytch directly to customers by offering demo rides, participating in cycling events and trade shows, and regularly sharing updates on social media. My weekly posts highlighted Swytch's growth and featured customer stories and experiences.
Results
By test-marketing Swytch in Central Toronto bike stores, implementing a variety of go-to-market strategies, and collaborating closely with Swytch UK, the results exceeded our expectations.
- 5 bike store owners (total 13 stores) became Swytch Dealers
- Customer reviews - 5-star rating
- Membership list of nearly 1,000 customers
- Net return profit was achieved in our Central Toronto market test
- Defining and improving on our delivery execution process for 2025
Gaining a deep understanding of the Swytch product, the company, and feedback from bike store owners and customers has allowed us to develop a new Swytch dealer program. This program will introduce new Swytch products, promotional offers, and expanded dealer opportunities in 2025.
March 2025
In March, I secured a 10' x 20' exhibit booth at the Toronto Spring Bike Show to showcase four Swytch eBikes. The exhibit will feature contribution partnerships from Go Dutch Bikes, Bike Depot, and Ride to Conquer Cancer. Highlights include:
- Swytch Demo eBike: Introducing the new Swytch GO kit.
- Go Dutch Swytch eBike: Showcasing the AIR15 and MAX30 kits
- Bike Depot Swytch eBike: Featuring the AIR15 kit.
- Ride to Conquer Cancer 2025: A registration and donation table with a Swytch eBike setup on a trainer, where volunteers will ride to help raise funds for the R2CC.
April - September 2025
Following the Toronto Bike Show, an integrated go-to-market plan has already been implemented to achieve the following:
- Expand Swytch Dealer Network: Recruit more bike stores across Ontario, with a target of over 50 stores becoming Swytch Dealers.
- Participate in Upcoming Events: Engage in trade shows and events focused on environmental sustainability, bike transportation, and community initiatives
- Social Media Strategy: Launch a mix of paid and organic campaigns to boost visibility and engagement
- Monthly Newsletter: Introduce the 'Switch to Swytch' newsletter for Swytch dealers, along with a weekly newsletter for over 1,000 ecoMVMNT members.
- Swytch Test-Riders: Host test-ride events at participating bike stores to customers experience Swytch products firsthand.
- New Product Launches: Introduce the latest Swytch products to bike stores and customers, keeping them informed and excited about Swytch's innovations.
