IKEA has reached a major sustainability milestone by transitioning 93 additional factories to 100% renewable electricity, bringing the total to 491 suppliers worldwide.
The company continues to invest in sustainability through material innovation, electrification of transport, and the expansion of renewable energy.
“We are striving for 100% renewable energy across the IKEA value chain. Electricity generation from fossil fuels is one of the largest contributors to global greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions,” said Sriram Rajagopal, Head of Climate and Air Quality at Inter IKEA Group.
IKEA’s strategy includes phasing out fossil fuels, responsible sourcing, and promoting circular design to enhance product longevity and recyclability.
