Fast Fashion Brands Not Eco-Friendly

Fast fashion brands prioritize producing inexpensive clothing that mimics the newest runway trends and rush it into stores to profit from short-lived demand. However, this speed comes at a major environmental cost: the industry is the second-largest consumer of water and generates roughly 10% of global carbon emissions, yet many shoppers remain unaware of its impact.

The darker reality is that fast fashion depletes water supplies, contaminates rivers and streams, and sends about 85% of textiles to landfills every year. Even laundering garments contributes to the problem, releasing around 500,000 tons of microfibers into the ocean annually — equal to about 50 billion plastic bottles.
