Eco Dangerous Materials Stopped by Canadians Services

In the fall of 2025, enforcement officers from Environment and Climate Change Canada and the Canada Border Services Agency intercepted more than one million kilograms of hazardous waste before it could be exported.

During the operation, officers stopped 59 shipping containers carrying environmentally dangerous materials, preventing the unlawful export of over 1,200,000 kilograms of waste—marking the largest enforcement action of its kind in Canada’s history.

The intercepted shipments included e-waste, used batteries, waste oil, hazardous scrap metal, polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs), plastic waste, contaminated scrap paper, and other harmful materials.
