For the next 4-weeks, ecoMVMNT will be recognizing young Canadians that are making a difference to our environment, now and for future generations
Our first EFW goes to Kiya Bruno from the Samson Cree Nation in Maskwacis, Alberta. Kiya is well known for her singing and dancing but also as a climate activist and advocating for Indigenous rights.
Kiya and her mother launched a new clothing company, Stay Rooted Apparel ᑲᓇᐁᐧᔨᐦᑌᑕᐣ ᒥᑐᓴ, and every item bought they have committed to planting 5 trees and to date over 2,000 trees have been planted. PLUS 10% of the company's proceeds go towards providing drinking water to First Nation families.
Congratulations Kiya for your outstanding contribution to our environment and we look forward to hearing more about your future eco-accomplishments.
